Dear Tom, Just a note of thanks for introducing us to the Lowe 165 Fishing Machine at the recent Sportsman's Show in Marquette, MI. We have totally enjoyed working with you, which was highlighted by your knowledge of the Lowe Boat line and the Mercury engine that came as a part of our package. In addition, having the unit delivered to our house, in Marquette, in a "water ready condition", was very much appreciated. As senior citizens, we also appreciate the ease with which the trailer allows us to launch and retrieve the Lowe more easily than smaller boats or boats of a similar size that we have owned through the years. * * * * Julie, With all the hunting and fishing done for the year, I just thought I'd fire off an email to thank you, Nate, and everybody for your help with the new SX180 Skeeter. With the arthritis in my back and neck, I wasn't able to fish as much as I'd liked in my deep-v boat. The Skeeter rides so much better and is a much more stable platform. I was able to fish all day like I used to, and the looks and comments at the landing were priceless. I was asked several times what tournament I was fishing for, where I got it and how much it was. They were pleasantly surprised when I told them it was $10 - $15G less than they thought. I hope I was able to steer some business your way. We came in contact with Mid-State Marine at the Milwaukee boat show after visiting other boat dealerships in the Stevens Point area. We had strict criteria that we felt must be met. The total depth of the boat, the depth of the boat inside as we have grandchildren, the hull strength, and the size of the front platform for manning the trolling motor etc. The next level of criteria was fish ability and that included being able to sit on the seats and swivel them and still have room for your knees. At the Milwaukee boat show we visited many of the booths for all types of boats and we were probably the only ones found with measuring tape and crawling under the boats to inspect them and also to take dimensions. Mid-State had a manufacturer representative present who answered my two son's questions and they went back to the Mid-State booth three times with more comparison questions. The big surprise came two weeks later when we received a very nice letter from Mid-State detailing the services they offered along with options and prices for us to consider. This was the only dealership that did this and I can honestly say that they lived up to everything they stated in their letter. We purchased a G3 Angler V185C from them and it is a tremendous boat. It has provided us peace of mind when fishing Lake of the Woods on "Guide Choice Fishing School" trips and when out fishing with our two grandchildren. Even as late as an Eagle River area trip in August we were still discovering features on this boat that are subtle but nice to have when you night fish. When in Canada we were behind islands fishing and when we came out to the main bay we discovered high winds and waves. As son said "Well Dad, this is why we bought this boat" and we headed for the resort into the waves. This boat sure can handle rough water. This boat allows us to get where we want to catch fish and allow us to catch fish like the pictures I have attached. In my book, Mid-State Marine is tops and along with G3 and Guide's Choice Fishing Trips this is one dynamic combination. Oh yes, my grandson in August also caught his first fish in our G3 and note the cap he wears. It is a G3 cap. This boat and cap mean alot to him. The cap is even worn at daycare. I would highly recommend going with the Yamaha 4-stroke 150. Many dealers to get the price down try to sell you a 115, but when you fish waters like we do the 150 is the only way to go. Tom & Julie: I really enjoy my new Yamaha 9.9 four-stroke outboard. It runs great and you really went out of your way to make sure it was set up right and to explain its maintenance and operation. It was a rather spontaneous decision to buy the motor and I'm glad I made it. It burns less than 1 gallon of gas per hour and polutes a small fraction of what my old two-stroke did. Three years ago I bought a new outboard motor and almost every time we went boating there was a breakdown where we had to be towed off the river. The dealership couldn't put a finger on the problem and would not replace the motor. One time we had to anchor for three hours (in nearly 100 degree temperature) before being towed in. That was the last straw...I was ready to give up on boating!!! Then Tom and Julie of Mid-State Marine started their business in Fremont and I thought...should I take a chance one more time?? I went, more-or-less, to interview them and was impressed with their knowledge and honesty (without any sales pressure...) needless to say...I bought a new pontoon and motor from them and have been extremely pleased. After two full seasons of boating...not one problem...well,maybe just one...I hit something and broke my prop...but that wasn't much of a problem either, because Tom came down to my boat and changed it for me. I'm enjoying the river again knowing I can depend on their dealership in times of emergency and service. I'll recommend Mid-State Marine to any boating enthusiast...(P.S.) You'll also be pleased with the friendliness and caring of Julie...after I bought my boat, I was in a hurry to get it in the water, but had no time to buy the hull numbers and put them on the pontoon...Julie went out of her way to purchase the numbers herself and put them on for me (at no cost I might add)...little things like that mean a lot when comparing dealerships.

I will never forget the summer of 2001. My purchase of a used pontoon boat turned from joy to sorrow when the lower unit froze up because of neglect by the previous owner. Tom came to Gilbert Lake (near Wild Rose), diagnosed the problem, loaded the boat on his trailer and took it back to Fremont. Later that same day, Julie called back with options, e.g. what it wouuld cost to repair the motor and prices on new Yamaha outboards. I chose a new 25 hp, 4 cycle Yamaha. Tom installed the new motor and delivered the pontoon back to Gilbert Lake the morning of July 4, in time for boat rides for our gathering of hunter education instructors.I firmly believe that no other marine dealership would have provided this kind of service. I have known Tom D'Amico since I bought my present boat in 1988. For the past 10 or 15 years he has been my chief mechanic. During this time I have never questioned his ability to diagnose any mechanical problem or his professional ability to fix any such problem. He has winterized and recommissioned my boat every year and tuned the engine whenever it was needed. He has serviced and aligned the outdrive; he has diagnosed a bearing problem in the alternator and replaced it; he has installed an electronic ignition system on the engine; and he has replaced the bellows...just to mention a few involvements to keep the boat in good condition. His professional expertise has given me the confidence that whenever I leave the dock I will return with no mechanical problems. This assurance has greatly enhanced the pleasure I have had cruising and fishing the waters of Lake Michigan.I have never hesitated, in fact, I have been happy to recommend Tom to my many boating friends around McKinley Marina who have had trouble with their boat. Although Tom is a very busy mechanic, if he has the time to service your boat, then you can be sure it will be fixed right and at a very reasonable and competitive price. Tom's knowledge of outboards, inboards, or IO's is outstanding. I have heard many express their complete satisfaction with his service.
